RACES

Pain + Suffer’n Weekend consists of three races. Race all three and become the "Weekend Warrior" and take home $250 in cash and a trophy by scoring the most points.

Short Track Mountain Bike - Friday, September 10th

This course offers a nice combination of wooded single track and wide-open harvested wheat-land. The fast track will get the heart pumping with numerous climbs and descents in the just under a mile distance. Plenty of room for passing and technical enough to make you think twice about how much speed to carry into that corner. Register for this race online.

XC Mountain Bike - Saturday, September 11th

Year two of mountain bike racing on Bald Peak will prove to be a challenge once again as the exhilarating course will have something for everyone – single track for the purist, through a hardwood forested canopy of hundred year old maple and wide open spaces of raw wheat-land for head to head competition. This groomed trail through ‘Pain Forest’ will prove fast and fun, before ascending back into the sunlight with spectacular views of the Tualatin Valley. A descent of 300’ of switchbacks and technical terrain await all those that dare. At the bottom you must choose your trail – “Purgatory” or “Hell”. These two very different sections rejoin at “The Crossroads” before heading to a short section of fire road. Now begins the real work of climbing back to the top. A new section of single track spreads out the arduous climb back up “Payback Hill”, before rejoining the fire road for just a short distance. Then it’s back through a short stretch of evergreen before popping out once again into the bright sunlight and a sprint to the start/finish line. Register for this race online.

Cyclocross - Sunday, September 12th

Kick-start your cyclocross season with this breathtaking race near the top of Bald Peak. The third year race is a great way to improve your cycling skills, as well as racing for some great prizes! 360 degrees of stunning views abound. This third leg of the impressive “triple crown” of weekend racing requires perseverance and determination. One of the tougher races of the cyclocross season, it has been called the “dust bowl” instead of the “mud bowl”. The “powdered sugar” dust creates it’s own set of challenges, getting into every nook and cranny. When combined with blood, sweat and tears, it creates it’s own brand of fun. So, are you up for the challenge? Register for this race online.
